My name is Karen Chase. I am working in the Dyer Lab. We research uranium and its effects on human breast cancer cells. Currently, I am working with breast cancer cells and exposing them to uranium and estradiol treatments. In the near future, I will be using the same cells and treatments to determine which receptors the uranium is binding to. When the receptors are bound, they allow the cells to proliferate. The goal is to find out which receptor on the cell is attracting the uranium.
