NAU tuition and fees vary depending on your residency status, if you are a continuing student or if you have received a pledge tuition.
Visit the Office of the Bursars website for a breakdown of tuition rates. If you do not know your status please contact the Bursar’s Office at 928-523-3122.
If you are 100% benefit eligible for the Post 9/11 GI Bill, the VA will pay 100% of your in-state tuition and fees. If you are an out-of state resident, you will be responsible for any costs that exceed in-state charges.
You are eligible to receive in-state residency without having to wait the required 1-year to establish residency. You must demonstrate objective evidence of intent to be a resident of Arizona by providing us with the following documents: A DD-214 showing your honorable discharge, your current Arizona voter registration, and an Arizona driver's license (DL). You can choose to replace the DL with one of the following: "AZ motor vehicle registration, employment history in AZ, transfer of major banking servies to AZ, change of permanent address on all pertinent records, or other materials of whatever kind or source relevant to domicile or residency status". We prefer the DL because it makes it easier for everyone. The DD-214 and voter registration are not replaceable with any other documents.
Unfortunately there are no shortcuts to residency for dependents receiving GI Bill benefits. However, please stay in touch as we plan to offer the Yellow Ribbon program to a limited number of students who qualify for the WUE program. Our application is currently being processed so there will be more to come on this topic.
