Mission: Honoring and inspiring academic excellence and engaged citizenship for a lifetime. This organization serves as a vehicle for positive impact on the local campus and Flagstaff community, as well as on the member. With so many opportunities and venues provided, NSCS has the great ability to serve as a benchmark for service and personal and professional growth in your college career.
Community Service Projects: The NAU chapter of NSCS participates in a wide array of service including regular projects with the Flagstaff Family Food Center, Adopt-an-Avenue Trash Pick-ups, community-wide service projects like Together We Paint and Relay for Life, NAU NSCS Integrity Scholarship, Local elementary school mentoring and resource scholarships, and projects attached to every meeting like letter writing campaigns. There are also social events, and local and national scholarship opportunities through the chapter.
Events: Fall induction convocation, March to College Day, "I Stand for Integrity" Day, Open Gym Night, Pine Forest Elementary School Art Mural Project, Fall induction convocation, regional and national conventions, and so much more.
Why join? This honors organization is like none other in that you are not only going to be opened up to wonderful local opportunties, regional opportunities, and national opportunities such as scholarships, travel, and professional growth, but you will also have the ability to personalize your experience to exactly what you are looking for in a honors and service organization.
Interested in joining? First and second year students are invited based on academic acheivement. This occurs every spring.
