Financial Aid
Each year, our department offers a limited number of graduate assistantships, out-of-state tuition waivers, and full tuition scholarships.
You must apply by the February 15th admissions deadline to be eligible for departmental financial assistance, which we normally award late in the spring semester for the following academic year. You can get applications for departmental assistantships and tuition waivers from our department office. In addition, more than half of our department faculty typically have individual research projects that provide funding for graduate assistants. If you are interested in these assistantships, contact faculty members directly. Our contract archaeology program also provides opportunities for employment if you have archaeology experience.
In all cases, you must have a GPA of at least 3.00 to be eligible for financial assistance. (Provisional standing does not affect your eligibility for financial aid, as long as you have a 3.00 grade point average.) Department financial awards are competitive; we base them on scholastic and professional criteria, not financial need. For more information contact the graduate coordinator of the Anthropology Department.
