The scholarship awarding process has completed and may be available spring 2010.  Check back here for availability and application process updates.

The Office of Residence Life is proud to announce the continuation of scholarship funds available to all residence hall students at Northern Arizona University.  This program, in its nineteenth year, has been made possible through a generous donation from the Web Corporation.

The Residence Life Scholarship is available for the 2009-2010 academic year.  Ten scholarships worth $1000 each will be divided equally between the fall and spring semesters.  Recipients will automatically be awarded $500 in the fall and $500 in the spring semester as long as they maintain the eligibility requirements.  If a student graduates or leaves the university at the end of the fall semester, they are no longer eligible for the spring semester.

Criteria for Scholarship:
  1. The recipient must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 (higher GPAs will be given greater attention).
  2. The recipient must be a full-time student for both the fall 2009 AND spring 2010 semesters.
  3. The recipient must have lived in the residence halls at Northern Arizona University for a minimum of two semesters by the fall 2009.
  4. The recipient must be returning to live in the residence halls for both the fall 2009 AND spring 2010 semesters.
  5. The recipient must have demonstrated leadership skills within a residence hall setting as observed through involvement, inclusion and academic success at NAU.  This leadership must be demonstrated outside of a paid position.
  6. In the case of equal qualifications, the financial need of the recipient will be considered.
  7. The scholarship money may be utilized for either the payment of tuition, room, or meals.

Scholarship Application Requirements:

Note:  In addition to submitting an online Scholarship application, you will be asked to provide (as a word attachment) the following information:

  • A copy (electronic) of your current resume

You may want to have these documents ready BEFORE you fill out and submit the online Scholarship application.  Once you submit the online application, you will then need to send these documents as an attachment to barry.eagle@nau.edu. Scholarship applications are not considered complete without these required attachments.

If you have the attachments ready for submission and would like to proceed, select the Scholarship Application link to begin the process.
