Residence Life Scholarship
Application deadline: March 23, 2012
The Office of Residence Life at NAU recognizes the crucial role that students play in making our residence halls feel like home. As such, we want to recognize those students that invest their time and energy in making others feel welcome here. This recognition, in the form of a $1000 scholarship, will be awarded on the basis of your involvement in any area of your residence hall including academic, social, and community life.
Do you sponsor a study group on your floor? Are you an active member of RHA? Do you coordinate sports tournaments or play dates for the kids in your complex? If so, we want to hear from you!
Ten scholarships, generously funded by Mac-Gray, worth $1000 each will be divided equally between the fall ($500) and spring ($500) semesters. If a student graduates or fulfill their housing contract, they are no longer eligible to receive any balance of the scholarship.
Eligibility criteria:
1. Minimum 3.0 cumulative G.P.A.
2. Full-time student status and be contracted and fulfill contract to live on campus through the NAU Office of Residence Life for fall 2012 and spring 2013. (residency verified at each semester; American Campus Community properties are not included)
3. Must have lived on campus for two semesters prior to fall 2012
4. Demonstration of contributing to a positive living community and leadership skills in the residence halls
5. Financial need may be considered
6. As a final expectation, you will be asked to provide a summary of how the scholarship contributed to your success as a residential student. Recipients will be notified of the format this summarization will be expected in.
While RAs and Hall Association Executives are not expressly prohibited from applying, preference will be given to students who initiate community-building in non-paid roles.
