The Business LCs connect freshmen who are interested in majoring in accountancy, business economics, computer information systems, finance, management or marketing. LC residents live together in one of two locations –  Sechrist Hall or McConnell Hall.

 

Common Courses 

Seats in certain high-demand classes will be reserved for Freshman Business LC residents. Your advisor will help you enroll in these courses, which you will attend with other members of your LC. Visit Priority Enrollment to find out more about enrollment and advising. In the fall, seats will be reserved in:

Fall Semester:
 
CIS 120 – Introduction to Computer Information Systems
Introduces students to computers and information systems, including applications used for communications and database management.
 
MGT 100 – Introduction to Business
This course introduces freshmen LC members to the functional areas of business management and how they interrelate to maximize wealth in a socially responsible way.

 

Spring Semester:

ACC 205 - Legal, Ethical, Global, and Regulatory Environment of Business
This course introduces students to the basic of the environment of business, including legal and ethical issues and the regulatory and global environment of business that affects business policies and decisions.

Past Activities & Events

Each year LC residents work with residence hall staff to plan exciting and meaningful activities. Past events that were held in the Freshman Business LC include:

Meet other LC residents and discuss future activities and events

Students will have the opportunity to meet faculty from the W.A. Franke College of Business through shared dinners and learn more about their field of study.

Discuss your schedule, future academic plans and career options with an expert in your field
