Accepting Learning Community applicants for the 2010-2011 Academic year

The Forestry “Tree House” LC connects approximately 40 freshman who are interested in majoring in forestry. LC residents live together in Reilly Hall.

 

Common Courses

Seats in certain high-demand classes will be reserved for Forestry “Tree House” LC residents. Your advisor will help you enroll in these courses, which you will attend with other members of your LC. Visit Priority Enrollment to find out more about enrollment and advising. For Fall ’09, seats will be reserved in:

FOR 101 – Forestry Introduction
Introduces students to the subject areas and career opportunities in forestry.
 
ENG 105 – Critical Reading and Writing in the University Community
Covers the writing skills needed for completing university coursework.

 

Activities & Events

Each year LC residents work with residence hall staff to plan exciting and meaningful activities. Possible events in the Forestry “Tree House” LC include:

Meet other LC residents and discuss future activities and events
 
Challenge Course
Connect with other LC residents as you build teamwork and leadership skills high above the ground
 
Colorado Regional Forester Visit
Discuss career paths and share stories with a Colorado Regional Forester
 
Faculty Dinner
Grab a plate and pick the brains of professors from the School of Forestry Advising Program Discuss your schedule, future academic plans and career options with an expert in your field
