Accepting Learning Community applicants for the 2010-2011 Academic year

The Academic Exploration Learning Community will assist freshmen in finding a potential major and career path that fits their unique skills and interests as well as help with the transition into the freshman year.  The LC will provide information, activities, workshops and resources for use by LC participants to help in their decision-making process in selecting a major, and to make their first year successful as a student. LC residents live together in Allen Hall and McConnell Hall.

 

Common Courses

Seats in certain high-demand classes will be reserved for Academic Exploration LC residents. Your advisor will help you enroll in these courses, which you will attend with other members of your LC. Visit Priority Enrollment to find out more about enrollment and advising. For fall ’09, seats will be reserved in:

Activities & Events

Each year LC residents work with residence hall staff to plan exciting and meaningful activities. Possible events in the Academic Exploration LC include:

Welcome Gathering
Meet other LC residents and discuss future activities and events

Grab a plate and pick the brains of university professors
 
Academic Success Workshop
Learn strategies to overcome your academic challenges
 
Career Spotlight Speaker Series
Hear NAU alumni share their experiences as a student and now as a professional
