Welcome Week Events – (first two weeks of the fall semester) RAs will invite residents to some of these activities. Check out all the possibilities on their website.

First Six Weeks – (first six weeks of the fall semester) This is six weeks worth of activities and events to help students successfully transition into college. Many events are initiated by the RA but there are larger programs for all freshman students as well, including:

The Letters – August 27 at 11am
This welcome week event is specifically for all freshman students. They are invited to come to the south fields in their blue and gold to form the NAU letters together for a picture of all incoming freshmen!
 
Hall Association Recruitment – (first two weeks of classes) Get involved and be the voice for the students in your building. You can be a general member or be a part of the executive board.
 
Tie-Dye Party – September 9 from 3-5pm on Reilly lawn
Come join hundreds of freshmen as they tie-dye their “Freshman Connections” t-shirt… or you can bring your own dye-able.
 
Running of the Freshmen – September 10 at 2:30pm
Get geared up in your blue and gold so you can run out in front of the football team at the first game of the season.
 
Academic Success Center Open Houses – September 11 from 7-9pm
Stop in your in-hall tutoring center  to learn about free tutoring AND get entered to win useful or delicious items!
 
In-Hall Group Exercise Classes – September 18-24
Join others in your hall’s lobby area for a convenient group exercise class. This is a part of the Freshman Fusion series.

HomecomingOctober 17-22 --- Be a part of the Saturday parade and help your Hall Association build a float!

HalloweenOctober 31 and surrounding dates --- Help your Hall Association sponsor/run booths for kids at the annual Halloween fest. Most years there has also been a costume dance.

Swing Into Springfirst three weeks of the spring semester --- This series of events and activities focuses on welcoming students back, providing academic success tips, and providing information on other important topics such as winter driving, finding fall housing, and more!

McConnell’s Snowball - Saturday, Janaury 28, 2012 at 8pm ---The staff of McConnell Hall organize a formal dance to raise money for the American Heart Association.

Sechrist’s Take My Voice - March/April --– The staff of Sechrist Hall organizes a day where students can pledge to be silent (“give their voice”) on behalf of a population of their choice that they feel has been historically underrepresented, misheard, or not heard at all.

Wilson Wiffleball Tournament - April --– The staff of Wilson Hall organize a wiffleball tournament and raffle to raise money for the Jennifer Wilson scholarship fund.

There are many other activities provided for NAU freshmen that are organized by the RA or other hall staff. Additionally, there will be certain activities consistently advertised in each building.
