Thank you for your interest in our family housing communities for married students and the students with children.
Family housing has more than 200 smoke-free apartments in two communities - Campus Heights and South Family. All are conveniently located on campus in comfortable surroundings.
Campus Heights and South Family include community centers with recreation and laundry facilities. These are focal points for activities, as well as individual social interaction. Throughout the year a variety of educational and social events are offered in each family community.

| Eligibility | ||
|
To be eligible, the husband, wife, or single parent renting the facility must be a full-time student during the academic year. For married couple apartments, applicants do not need to be married to apply for housing - just legally married prior to occupying an apartment.
| ||
| Assignment Process | ||
|
Each semester, vacancies are determined and assignments accordingly. Typically, you will first be notified of an available apartment by telephone or e-mail, and later assigned a specific apartment by the Family Residence Hall Director (RHD). NOTE: At certain times, there is a waiting period for an assignment. Please wait for an assignment before making plans to move to campus. The Family Residence Hall Director (RHD) will assign your apartment and check-in date. Before your check-in date, you will need to pay one month's rent. Please have your receipt with you upon check-in for proof of payment. You will need to check-in on the date given at the apartment complex office where you have been assigned. Additionally, you will need to submit a copy of your marriage license, divorce papers, children's birth certificate(s), or custody papers if applicable to the Office of Residence Life before you can check-in.

2009-2010 Family Housing Rates - effective July 1, 2009
Students receiving scholarships or other financial aid may have rent deducted from their disbursements at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters.
If enough financial aid is available, fall disbursement will pay September, October, November, and December rent and the spring disbursement will pay January, February, March, April, and May rent. Summer financial aid will pay June, July, and August rent. The months of rent paid will vary depending on the amount of financial aid received. Always check your financial aid records and housing account balance to verify if anything is due.
Rent is due the first of every month. Failure to pay may result in late fees, a hold on your account, and eviction. Rent may be paid directly to the Office of the Bursar located on the first floor of the Gammage building or on LOUIE at nau.edu/louie. As of July 1, the university will accept payment from MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and Japan Credit Bureau cards. Visa credit, debit, and check cards will not be accepted for payment. Please contact the Office of the Bursar at 928-523-3122.
One month's rent is due upon check-in. Please have your receipt with you upon check-in for proof of payment. If you check-in during the middle of the month, a pro-rated amount will be reflected in your second month's rent balance.
