
The Housekeeper Supervisor will supervise Conference Housekeepers in their daily cleaning, as well as prepare housekeeper schedules, serve as Quality Control in the rooms by checking their readiness, communicate with Conference Managers, the Linen Department and the Conference Coordinator.
Responsibilities
| A. Staff | |
| - | Adhere to all University Code of Conduct and Standards of Residence |
| - | Attend training and arrange for specific training for housekeeping staff as needed |
| - | Supervise Assistant to the Executive Housekeeper and offer direction with tasks as needed |
| - | Supervise Conference Housekeepers |
| - | Attend weekly staff meetings with hall staffs and duBois staff |
| - | Provide on-going feedback and evaluation to CHs |
| - | Provide on-going verbal feedback of job performance of CHs |
| - | Provide written evaluation of CHs |

| B. Administrative | |
| - | Responsible for "quality check" of all rooms |
| - | Meet daily with Team Leader to discuss schedule and tasks needing completion |
| - | Schedule CH staff meetings |
| - | Attend weekly meeting scheduled by Conference Coordinator and duBois center |
| - | Develop system to inventory and order supplies and linen |
| - | Communicate systems, information and concerns to Conference Managers, Linen Supervisor and Conference Coordinator |
| - | Develop a system to work with building custodians to identify when public areas need cleaning |
| - | Attend Pre-Conference Meetings as necessary |
| - | Work with Conference Managers to plan and implement all hands on deck |

| C. Maintenance & Custodial | |
| Oversee the work of Conference Housekeepers in the following areas: | |
| - | Lower/raise lofted beds at beginning and end of conference season |
| - | Mop/Sweep room floors |
| - | Clean room sinks |
| - | Empty room wastebaskets |
| - | Dust shelves, desks, chairs and other needed areas in rooms |
| - | Clean room mirrors |
| - | Clean showers, sinks, toilets, floors, and mirrors in the Gabaldon/Mt. View bathrooms |
| - | Do other necessary cleaning and straightening of rooms |
| - | Occasional cleaning of room windows |
| - | Distribute linen to rooms |
| - | Make beds in Gabaldon/Mt. View and other buildings as needed |
| - | Pick up used linen from rooms |
| - | Bundle used linen |
| - | Transport clean linen to floor areas from Linen Department, return used linen to area in the hall for Linen Department pick-up |
| - | Occasionally move beds, tables, chairs, etc., to accommodate the needs of conference groups |
| - | Distribute any items that Residence Life or the Conference Office provides |

| In addition to overseeing the CHs' work, provide the following services: | |
| - | Inspect rooms for readiness before guest check-in |
| - | Know the lay out of the building and where the fire system, breakers, sprinkler shut-off and other important equipment |
| are located | |
| - | Report custodial/maintenance problems to the proper source(s) |
| - | Occasionally work with full-time custodial staff to prepare or touch-up public areas |

| D. Public Relations | |
| - | Present a positive and professional image of the university at all times |
| - | Maintain a positive and responsive attitude to needs of conferees, hall staff and housekeeping staff |
| - | Serve as a referral/information source as needed |
| - | Work with other custodial and linen departments and maintain a positive attitude |

Perform other duties as assigned that pertain to staff, buildings, and conferences - Staff members are paid at 30 hours per week. | |

EMPLOYMENT STIPULATIONS
- A current NAU parking sticker for residence hall lots must be purchased by the employee. A $5 charge will be assessed for any zone changes for current parking permits. Conference staff will be responsible for this charge
- Due to scheduling conflicts and the need for vast flexibility, the HS may not take classes during the summer
- Outside employment not permitted
EMPLOYMENT DATES AND REMUNERATION
- Exact employment dates and stipend amounts will be indicated when a contract is offered.
- Start Date: Could be as early as May 13 End date: Could be as late as August 13
- Dates will vary depending on conference schedule.
- The Housekeeper Supervisor will receive a stipend of approximately $2100 (dependent on actual dates of employment), a single room and a meal plan.
