NAU reserves the right to make changes in the University calendar, schedule of classes, course fees and academic policies.
All deadlines listed below are pro-rated for non-16 week classes.

March 2009
3/02 - 4/15 Advisement (check with your advisor for dates and times)
3/16 - 3/20 Spring Break (no classes)
3/23 - 4/15 Early Enrollment for Fall 2009 (continuing students only)
April 2009
4/16 - 8/23 Open Enrollment begins (for new and continuing students)
June 2009
6/29 First day to submit petition to change residency status for the Fall 2009 term.
August 2009
8/01 Payment deadline for students enrolled between 3/23-8/01
8/02 Unpaid students are placed in payment plan
8/15 First Financial Aid refund
8/22 - 8/23 Welcome Weekend
8/24 $50 late enrollment fee in effect
8/24 First day of instruction for Fall 2009
September 2009
9/4 Last day to Add a class (without having to file a petition and pay a $25 late add fee)
9/4 Last day to submit residency reclassification petition
9/4 Last day to change Audit to Credit or Credit to Audit
9/4 Last day to file for Grade Replacement
9/5 Petition to Add a class and $25 late add fee in effect
9/7 Labor Day – University Closed
9/7 Last Day to drop with 100% refund for M16 session classes
9/14 Administrative Drop deadline and 21st day enrollment count
9/15 Census $100 Add fee for M16 session classes in effect
9/18 Last day to Drop/Delete a class (without class appearing on students’ transcripts)
9/19 Drop with a “W” in effect (class will appear on students’ transcripts with a “W” where grade is reported)
9/24 Commencement program deadline for name inclusion
9/25 Last day to file for A-Pass/Fail
9/28 - 10/16 Submission of mid-term grades
October 2009
9/28 - 10/16 Submission of mid-term grades
10/9 Last day to submit residency reclassification appeal
10/23 Last day to drop with a “W” (without having to file a petition and pay a $25 late processing fee)
10/24 Petition to drop and $25 late processing fee in effect
November 2009
10/26 - 11/18 Early enrollment for Spring 2010 (continuing students only)
11/11 Veteran’s Day – University Closed
11/19 Open enrollment for Spring 2010 begins
11/26- 11/27 Thanksgiving – University Closed
11/30 Last day to officially withdraw from the University for the Fall 2009 term (from all classes)
December 2009
12/1 Undergraduate graduation application deadline to Registrar's Office for Spring 2010 commencement (contact your college for their earlier graduation application deadlines; Graduate students should contact the Graduate College for their deadline.)
11/30 - 12/4 End of Term Week
12/4 Instruction ends
12/7 - 12/10 Finals
12/11 Commencement
   

New freshmen students (less than 13 earned college credits after high school) attend a two-day orientation session prior to enrollment for Fall 2009.  New transfer students (greater than 12 earned college credits after high school) attend a one-day orientation session prior to enrollment for Fall 2009.  More information about New Student Orientation can be obtained at http://www4.nau.edu/nsp/Orientation/Index.htm
