NAU reserves the right to make changes in the University calendar, schedule of classes, course fees and academic policies.
All deadlines listed below are pro-rated for non-16 week classes.

September 2008
9/29 Class schedule for Spring 2009 term available on LOUIE at www.nau.edu/LOUIE
October 2008
10/6-11/19 Advisement – check with your advisor for dates and times
10/27-11/19 Early Enrollment for Spring 2009 (continuing students only)
10/27 First day to submit petition to change residency status for the Spring 2009 term
November 2008
11/20-11/30 Open Enrollment begins (for continuing and new students)
11/27-11/28 THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY (University Closed) – Open enrollment is available on LOUIE during university closure
December 2008
12/1-12/31 Open Enrollment continues (for continuing students and graduate students)
12/1 Payment deadline for students enrolling between 10/27-12/1 for Spring 2009 term
12/2 Unpaid students are placed in payment plan
12/15-1/9 Winter Session – See www.nau.edu/winter for important dates and class schedule
12/26/08 -1/2/09 WINTER BREAK (University Closed)
January 2009
1/1 -1/12 Enrollment and drop/add continues
1/5 Financial Aid refunding begins
1/10-1/11 Welcome Weekend
1/12 First day of instruction for Spring 2009
1/12 $50 late enrollment fee in effect
1/19 MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY (University Closed)
1/23 Last day to add (without having to file a petition and pay a late add fee)
1/23 Last day to change Audit to Credit or Credit to Audit
1/23 Last day to file for Grade Replacement
1/23 Last day to submit residency reclassification petition
1/24 Petition to Add a class and $25 late add fee in effect
1/26 Last day to drop with 100% refund for M16 session classes – See www.nau.edu/bursar/refunds.htm for more information.
February 2009
2/2 Administrative Drop deadline and 21st day enrollment count
2/3 Census $100 Add fee for M16 session classes in effect
2/6 Last day to Drop/Delete (without class appearing on students’ transcripts)
2/7 Drop with a “W” in effect (class will appear on students’ transcripts with a “W” where grade is reported)
2/9 Enrollment for Summer 2009 begins
2/10 Commencement program deadline for name inclusion
2/13 Last day to file for A/Pass/Fail
2/18 – 3/10 Submission of mid-term grades
2/27 Last day to submit residency reclassification appeal
March 2009
3/13 Last day to drop with a “W” (without having to file a petition and pay a $25 late processing fee)
3/14 Petition to drop a class and $25 late drop fee in effect
3/16-3/20 SPRING BREAK (no classes)
3/23-3/31 Early Enrollment for Fall 2009 begins (continuing students only)
April 2009
4/1-4/15 Early Enrollment for Fall 2009 continues (continuing students only)
4/16-4/30 Open Enrollment for Fall 2009 begins (for continuing students, new transfer and readmitted students with more than 30 units, new graduate students)
4/24 Last day to officially withdraw from the University for the Spring 2009 term (from all classes)
4/24 Undergraduate graduation application deadline at Registrar’s Office for Fall 2009 commencement (contact your college for their earlier graduation application deadlines; Graduate students should contact the Graduate College for their deadline)
May 2009  
5/1-5/31 Open Enrollment for Fall 2009 continues (for continuing students, new transfer and readmitted students with more than 30 units, new graduate students)
4/27-5/1 End of term week
5/1 Instruction Ends
5/4-5/7 Finals
5/8-5/9 Commencement
