Ab Lab

Join us for an awesome abdominal and back 30-minute strengthening workout that incorporates the stability ball which as been proven to be the most effective tool for training the abdominals.  You’re sure to leave this fast yet effective class feeling great!

All Levels Yoga
Gain experiential knowledge though this class while you are taught the foundations of yoga. Learn how to focus on technique and alignment of each posture and open up your body for flexibility and strength training. It is easily modified to accommodate all body types and helps with stress reduction and balance.

Aqua Sculpt*
High intensity, high energy class for 30-minutes in shallow water and 30-minutes in deep water. With the use of an aquajogger, this class will incorporate interval training in a suspended environment providing you with an incredible cardiovascular and resistance trainng workout.  You will sculpt and tone your muscles incorporating leg strenthening exercises, sculling and resistive aqua equipment.  Class is held at the Wall Aquatic Center.  Monday, Wednesday classes are held in deep water & Tuesday, Thursday classes are held in shallow water.

Cardio and Core*
A CORE intensive workout focusing on exercises targeting your abs and back, and evreything in between!  This high powered 30-minute shallow and 30-minute deep water aqua class will challenge your mind and tone your body.  Running, aqua moves and swim drills, complemented by muscle strengthening and toning exercises using buoys, noodles, bands and more.  Class is held at the Wall Aquatic Center.  Monday, Wednesday classes are held in deep water & Tuesday, Thursday classes are held in shallow water.

Cardio Sculpt
This powerful and effective class will strengthen and define your entire body using amplified resistance and cardio exercises.  This class will incorporate training techniques that will challenge all the major muscle groups, strengthen the core muscles, improve posture and increase cardiovascular endurance! 

Dance Fundamentals

Don't want to pay extra for dance classes this year?  Come take Dance Fundamentals!  It's a great way to keep in shape and have fun dancing.  This class will take modern ballet, jazz and some edgy hip hop and roll it into a technique and chorography based class.  Burn the calories, gain flexibility and learn great dance combos every Friday at 2pm!

Fitness Fusion

Join us for an awesome Saturday workout!  We'll keep your workouts fresh as the class formats and instructors change every Saturday!  10/31: Kickboxing, 11/7: Hip Hop, 11/14: Ultimate Conditioning, 11/21: Jazzercise.

Freshman Fusion Re-mix

All freshman are invited to attend this Freshman exclusive Group Exercise Class every Wednesday.  The class format changes every week along with awesome highlighted topics and instructors!  11/4: All Levels Yoga, 11/11: Hip Hop, 11/18: Jazzercise Express.  To check out more of the Freshman Fusion schedule, visit the website www.nau.edu/fusion.   

Hip Hop
This class is a fun way to stay active and dance away your stress. Challenge your body and feel the workout while having a great time dancing to popular fast-past hip hop beats. This class is for both experienced and non experienced dancers, everyone is welcome!  So come and shake your body and learn fun new dances.

Jazzercise

Jazzercise is an incredible 60-minute class full of cardio, strength and stretch moves for a TOTAL  body workout.  This class utilizes moves from hip hop, yoga, pilates, jazz, kickboxing and resistance training and bundled them into one hour!  All ages, levels and sizes welcome so come join us today!

Kickboxing
This incredible cardio workout is full of exhilarating kick and punch combinations that will keep your heart rate up and deliver great results.  This class incorporates cardio and weight bearing intervals that will make your body burn! 

Noontime Step
Geared toward those who would like a more active lunchtime.  Class incorporates spectacular step moves and is taught in a moderate style to accommodate progression in step techniques.  It’s a great, quick workout that is bound to make you sweat! 

Pilates
Get in the best shape of your life by participating in pilates and learning the pilates principles that are changing the way society thinks about fitness.   You will learn how to challenge core and peripheral strength while working on posture, coordination, balance and flexibility plus minimizing excess bulk! 

PiYo

Enhance your core and increase flexibility by combining Yoga and Pilates Mat method exercises.  Improve your posture, flexibility, muscule strength and physical awareness of the entire body.  This class is especially great for increasing back and abdominal strength. 

Step & Sculpt
This class takes the traditional step moves and transforms them into imaginative step combinations by simply adding the elements of rhythm, direction and style!  Class wouldn’t be complete without integrating great toning and muscular strengthening exercises. This class sure brings the "fun factor" back into a workout!

Tred & Shed

A Lumberjack first...group TREADMILL classes!  Whether you are a runner or a walker, come experience cardiovascular training at its finest.  These 30-minute classes are designed to increase your cardiovascular capacity to keep you in shape using hill work, speed work and interval drills that you would most likely never push yourself to do!  No experience with running is necessary...just a water bottle!  Feel free to bring your ipod!  Reservations requested- pick up a reservation card at the front desk.  Classes meet on the Matrix treadmills in the cardio room.

Zumba
It’s the fitness phenomenon that is taking the world by storm!  It’s a fusion of Latin and international music and dance themes creating a dynamic, exciting and effective fitness experience!  The routines feature aerobic fitness with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body.  It’s a mixture of body sculpting movements with easy-to-follow dance steps perfect for anyone with or without dance experience!!  Come Zumba with us!

Ultimate Conditioning
Start your day off right with an all around full-body workout.  Challenge your strength and endurance with a combo of cardio and strength intervals utilizing a variety of fitness equipment.  NO CHOREOGRAPHY- just fast feet and serious strength.  Class CHANGES every time so you see CHANGES in your physique, power, endurance and agility.

*Aqua Fit classes are free to NAU students.  Aqua Fit classes are not includeded with a Rec Center membership, a class pass is $6/class.  Aqua Fit classes are included with a Wall Aquatic Center membership.

Private Yoga & Pilates Instruction

Bring your NAU ID card with you to every class.  The instructor will swipe your card for class admittance.

For safety reasons, there are no late entries & once you leave class you may not return.
