Amanda Rivas

Hometown: Goodyear, AZ (I am originally from Chicago, IL and that’s where I consider my hometown even though I have not lived there in six years)

Classes you teach: Kickboxing

Fitness Perspective: Personal fitness should be measured on how good you feel about yourself and how healthy your body feels during activity rather than a specific size or weight.

Fitness Perspective: Being strong and fit has both physical and emotional definitions. To be strong and fit physically requires dedication and time to your body, while being strong and fit emotionally requires self-confidence, courage, and persistence. Therefore, to encompass both definitions in one lifetime, you must intertwine the two and use them together to become your best.

Tracie Hansen

Hometown: Born and raised in Tucson, Ariz., but I’ve called Flagstaff home since 1998.

Connection to NAU: I work full time for NAU in the Office of Public Affairs, but I’m also a proud two-time alum with my bachelor’s in public relations and my master’s in applied communication.

Classes you teach: Step and Sculpt, most often during the noon hour while I’m on my lunch break!

Fitness Perspective: Fitness and exercise should be a good blend of work and fun. Don’t be afraid to try something new and outside your comfort zone.

Group Exercise Program Policy with Inclimate Weather

If the univeristy closes due to inclimate weather, the group exercise schedule will be modified until the university re-opens. Always check our website or call the Rec Center (523-1733) for class updates and individual class cancellations.
