1:00-2:00 p.m.  Fitness Remix- 20-20-20
Three workouts in one! The 20/20/20 class is designed to give you the ultimate challenge and total body workout. Sweat through 20 minutes of arms, 20 minutes of legs, and 20 minutes of abs and core work. Are you ready for the challenge?

Wednesday, October 5
7:00-8:00 p.m.  Freshman Fusion Remix- Step & Sculpt & IM Sports
This class takes the traditional step moves and transforms them into creative step combinations by simply adding the elements of rhythm, direction and style!  Class wouldn’t be complete without integrating the cardiovascular workout with great toning and muscular strengthening exercises.  This class brings the "fun factor" back into a workout!  Also, learn about the Campus Recreation Services Intramural Sports Program.  Find out how you can get involved, register and check out the jam packed schedule of upcoming events!  We’ll even give you the inside dish on our Residence Hall Leagues, where you will play with your fellow freshmen and RAs!Location: Health & Learning Center, Building #25- Recreation Center- Exercise Suite #1

Saturday, October 8
1:00-2:00 p.m.  Fitness Remix- Cardio Kickboxing
This incredible cardio workout is full of exhilarating kick and punch combinations that will keep your heart rate up and deliver great results.  The class also incorporates cardio and weight bearing intervals that will make your body burn!  Due to space limitations, this class is limited to 40 participants, first come first serve.

Sunday, October 9
2:00 p.m.  Splash to Dash Breast Cancer
Hosted by the NAU TriJacks Club, participate in this 500 meter swim in the Wall Aquatic Center pool followed by a 5K run around campus.  Proceeds will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.  For more information or register by calling 928-523-4509. $15/Students (includes log sleeve t-shirt and swim cap).

Health-a-palooza! October 10-16

Monday, October 10         
6:30-8:30 p.m.  Free Personal Training Assessments and TRX Demo
Have you reached a fitness plateau?  Are you ready to set new fitness goals?  Do you need motivation to workout?  Campus Recreation Services Personal Trainers are ready to answer your questions, discuss appropriate goal setting, and give you a free TRX workout.  Visit the Fitness Programs office and receive free functional and physiological assessments!

 TBD  Intramural Sports Pink Dodgeball Tournament
Pink 6v6 Dodgeball Tournament: Finish off the fall semester with a thud! Show off your skills with the "5 D's", and come out on top! This is a week long tournament, and the format will be dependent upon the number of entries.

100% of donated proceeds will be used to fund cancer research!!
- Teams are encouraged to wear pink or white uniforms.
- Winning teams will receive custom high quality champion shirts, which may also be purchased while supplies last.
- There will also be event sponsors and a raffle!

Sleepless in Flagstaff?  Come to our workshop about the importance of sleep and healthy sleep habits for college students.

Familiarize yourself with all the Health and Learning Center departments and check out all of the health, fitness and wellness opportunities Northern Arizona University has to offer you!  Play a game of wii Mario Cart, relax with a free chair massage, participate in blood pressure checks and glucose screenings and breast self-exams.  You can even get started with personal fitness assessments by NAU’s very own certified personal trainers!  Expo will be made up of the following:

Spend an hour learning to relax yourself more deeply as an aid to working well with others.

 6:00-8:00 p.m.  Challenge Course Mixer
The Challenge Course, what is that? A challenge course is a series of obstacles constructed of rope, cable, wood, or simple portable items such as stuffed toys, hula hoops, or tarps. The challenge course is designed to help individuals and groups get to know each other in a new way and work more effectively together by solving obstacles and problems in a non-traditional setting.  This mixer will be an introduction to the types of activities experience on a course.  Bring your friends and make new ones here.  You are guaranteed to laugh, have a good time, and learn something about yourself and someone else during this two hour session.  Location:  Health & Learning Center, Building #25- Recreation Center- NAU Outdoors

Drop it like it's hot with all of the NAU Campus Recreation Services Zumba instructors!  We are turning the MAC gym into a dance club with salsa, merengue, cumbia, reggaeton, samba, bachata, belly dance, and hip hop!  This class combines fast and slow rhythms that get your heart pumping.  It’s a mixture of body sculpting movements with easy-to-follow dance steps perfect for anyone with or without dance experience!!

9:00 a.m.  NAU Outdoors Sedona Yoga & Meditation Day Trip
Join the NAU Outdoors staff and our Rec Center Yoga Instructor as we take a short day trip to the beautiful red rocks of Sedona.  Included in the trip will several yoga sessions, guided meditation and several short day hikes.  Cost $40.00, lunch will also be included.  Register in advance as spots fill quickly.  www.nau.edu/outdoors

7:00-8:00 p.m.  Freshman Fusion Remix- Hardcore Abs & The World of Exercise
Tired of endless crunches? Come get a great total abdominal workout and back strengthening workout. Our instructors will lead you through a fun and intense class combining the use of stability balls, weights and other equipment to help you achieve your core strengthening goals.  Join us for this workout and find out what type of exercise works for you and stay on track with your fitness goals. Learn how to incorporate exercise into the college schedule and budget. Find what and who motivates you to get through the year with fitness on your priority list.

1:00-2:00 p.m.  Fitness Remix- X-Treme Total Body
This extreme 60-minute class is designed to challenge you with a more intensified full-body workout. The workouts contain muscle toning, agility, power based exercises, heart-pumping cardio drills, partner relays and intense obstacle courses.

Tuesday, October 25
2:00-4:00 p.m.  Introduction to Rock Climbing
Improve your climbing ability, efficiency, and technique by participating in this two hour instructional clinic.  Our instructors will demonstrate basic climbing technique, introduce terminology and provide coaching as you practice.   Topics/skills covered include: balance and resting while climbing, spotting and falling, types of climbing, route rating systems, gripping holds, and foot work.  This class is designed for beginning climbers, no prior experience necessary.

Wednesday, October 26
7:00-8:00 p.m.  Freshman Fusion Remix- On the Ball & Relieving Stress through Exercise
This class utilizes the stability ball throughout for total-body muscle sculpting. This class continuously challenges participants with exercises that use their own body weight as a form of resistance.  Join us for this class and learn how exercise can provide an effective release for negative emotions, turning otherwise potentially unhealthy emotions into motivation for increased health and well-being.

7:30-8:30 p.m.  Halloween Zumba® Party!
Let's Zumba...Halloween style!  Participate in our costume contest and burn some extra calories while dancing to our international beats!  This class combines fast and slow rhythms that get your heart pumping.  It’s a mixture of body sculpting movements with easy-to-follow dance steps perfect for anyone with or without dance experience!!  Come Zumba with us...it will be a spooktacular time!
