- Eat This Not That Info Board Check-out the Rec Center Fitness Board (outside of the HLC Fitness Programs Office) and learn about simple food substitutions that can save you 1, 3, 5, pounds – or more!

Wednesday, November 2
7:00-8:00 p.m. Freshman Fusion Remix- All Levels Yoga & Evading the Freshman 15
Through this class, gain experiential knowledge while you are taught the foundations of yoga. Learn how to focus on technique and alignment of each posture and open up your body for breathing, flexibility, and strength training. The workout helps reduce your stress and improves your physical and mental balance. Also, learn why so many people gain weight during their first year of college and how you can avoid the same pitfalls. We’ll talk about the many aspects affecting food choices and weight change and provide tools to help you develop successful strategies for staying healthy.

1:00-2:00 p.m. Fitness Remix- Zumba
Drop it like it's hot! A mix of salsa, merengue, cumbia, regaeton, samba, bachata, belly dance, and hip hop - you won't feel like you are in a fitness class, you will feel like you are at the club! This class combines fast and slow rhythms that get your heart pumping. It’s a mixture of body sculpting movements with easy-to-follow dance steps perfect for anyone with or without dance experience!! Come Zumba with us!

1:00-2:00 p.m. Small Group Training
Experience a FREE small group workout led by one of NAU’s personal trainers who will lead you through a challenging, full body cardio and strength session. Your workout is based on experience, progression, and fitness levels. It is designed to incorporate all levels of fitness and your trainer will modify workouts as needed individually. Registration is not required, just meet at the Recreation Center front desk for a workout that you’ll leave feeling great!

7:00-8:00 p.m. Freshman Fusion Remix- Step & Sculpt & Eating On the Go
This class takes the traditional step moves and transforms them into creative step combinations by simply adding the elements of rhythm, direction and style! Class wouldn’t be complete without integrating the cardiovascular workout with great toning and muscular strengthening exercises. This class brings the "fun factor" back into a workout! Along with this workout you’ll get ideas to help you find food that is quick and healthy. Learn how to get the most nutrition from campus foods and dorm room snacks.

4:00-5:00 p.m. Stressless- Stress Management & Relaxation
Workshop will include stress self-asessments, healthy reactions to stressors, optimism, stress management techniques and relaxation strategies including progressive muscle relaxation, visualization and deep breathing. You will leave this workshop with a personalized stress management plan!

1:00-2:00 p.m. Fitness Remix- Cardio Kickboxing
This incredible cardio workout is full of exhilarating kick and punch combinations that will keep your heart rate up and deliver great results. The class also incorporates cardio and weight bearing intervals that will make your body burn! Due to space limitations, this class is limited to 40 participants, first come first serve.

7:00-8:00 p.m. Freshman Fusion Remix- Hardcore Abs & Carbohydrates Pros & Cons
Tired of endless crunches? Come get a great total abdominal workout and back strengthening workout. Our instructor will lead you through a fun and intense class combining the use of stability balls, weights and other equipment to help you achieve your core strengthening goals. Also, do you ever get confused by all the different things you hear and read about carbohydrates? We’ll try to help you sort things out. We’ll talk about the healthiest and least healthy kinds of carbs, gluten intolerance, sugar substitutes and things that promote carbohydrate cravings.

7:00-8:00 p.m. Freshman Fusion Remix- Pilates & Know the Groups
A class that works your entire body without even knowing it! Workouts consist of a compilation muscular endurance, conditioning, yoga, sports and dance exercises. The class will challenge core and peripheral strength while working on posture, coordination, balance, and flexibility.
