General Info

Welcome to the NAU Wushu Club page! Wushu is a contemporary sport practiced for centuries in China and now widely popular throughout the world! Based in martial artistry, Wushu focuses on techniques and forms, not application. Wushu’s movements are more acrobatic and dancelike, known for their gymnastics and gravity-defying expertise. Wushu is a non-contact sport, and while students learn kicks, punches, flips, and spins, they never apply them against one another. Wushu is most well-known in the film industry, made famous by actors like Jet Li, Jackie Chan, and Donnie Yen in the films Wushu: The Young Generation, The Forbidden Kingdom, Fearless, and Ip Man! Wushu is fun and easy to do – the club offers a loving, family-based environment where members become lifelong friends after training Wushu with one another.  No prior experience required, email Dusty at drs246@nau.edu for more info!
