At NAU, our Pre-Law program is committed to helping you make informed decisions about whether law school is right for you and, if you do decide that this is the best choice, to helping you prepare for your future in the legal professions.
Because law schools do not require particular majors, students can apply and be accepted to law school no matter what course of study they decide to pursue. When it comes to the choice of majors, minors, and the like, we agree with the advice given by the American Bar Association. They strongly suggest that students choose a major and form a larger program of study that is academically rigorous and challenging. Choose courses that will help you learn to read difficult texts with greater care, write with greater clarity, and learn to examine and evaluation the strengths and weaknesses of different kinds of argument.
This website contains information about preparing for law school, selecting a law school and applying to law school. Be sure to follow the link to the LSAC site, which will help to answer questions you might have about the LSAT exam and the process for applying to law school.
If you have decided to pursue a pre-law course of study, please start by contacting Pre-Law@nau.edu. We will help answer your initial questions and ensure that you are paired up with a Pre-Law faculty advisor.
