As part of NAU’s master plan to become a more pedestrian-friendly campus by closing some surface parking and adding green space, on-campus parking continues to evolve.
Parking lots 20 and 21, near Raymond Hall and Cowden Learning Community will close before the beginning of the fall 2008 semester. Parking will be available in the 800-spot parking garage across from Ardrey Auditorium. It is recommended that residents in Raymond Hall and Aspen Crossing purchase the garage permit.
These lots will be turned into green space--part of the university’s plan to eliminate some of the 65 acres of surface parking. NAU’s Mountain Campus Transit will continue to offer free and timely shuttle services.
The 2008-2009 academic year parking permits are available for purchase starting May 1, 2008 and will be distributed to owners starting in June. Most parking permit prices will increase for the 2008-09 year as part of the tiered-increase proposal adopted three years ago. Some prices for parking regulation violations will increase as well.
Mountain Campus Transit (MCT) has expanded evening bus frequency (Monday - Thursday). There will be four buses running until 9:00 PM. MCT will also run two buses until 10:00 PM serving both bus routes. However, after 10:00 PM, only Route One (CLine Library) has service until 11:00 PM.
After 4:30 PM no permit is requried to park in the parking garage.
