New student Orientation kicks off May 27
Nearly 6,500 new students and their families are expected to come to campus in the next month for Orientation. The new Lumberjacks will be hosted by a
team of 33 enthusiastic Orientation Leaders. If you're planning to attend, remember Flagstaff weather can be changeable. For a sample agenda, information on what to bring, or to sign up for a session, click here.

In the Flagstaff election for mayor and city council, Northern Arizona University emerged as a top vote-getter.
Flagstaff's new mayor—Sara Presler-Hoefle—does legal work for students on campus and serves as an adjunct instructor in The W.A. Franke College of Business. Karla Brewster, newly elected to serve on Flagstaff's city council, is an administrative assistant in the Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Studies. Read more...

Two blue: Track and field wins second straight Big Sky outdoor title
Men's track and field won its second straight outdoor Big Sky Conference championship over the weekend with freshman distance standout David McNeill named Track Athlete of the Meet. The Lumberjack women's team finished second.

Student-athlete to attend Olympic leadership conference
Sophomore sprinter Tanyshia Ridley has been selected to attend the 2008 conference sponsored by U.S. Olympic FLAME, a program dedicated to inspiring minority college students to succeed.
