The College of Engineering and Natural Sciences will host a YouTube research and design video competition capitalizing the video-sharing abilities of our students and their familiarity with YouTube.com to creatively promote their research and design abilities to a vast audience. The focus of the competition will be key themes and strategic goals of the college and the university, such as the global applicability of the project and efforts toward environmental sustainability.
The competition will invite students to work as individuals or in teams to design and implement a project. The students will create a digital video highlighting their work in action and submit it to the college for judging. Prizes will be awarded to the top projects. The college will establish a free YouTube account and upload all of the videos submitted.
Gifts to this project will be used to for publicity costs, participation incentives, and for the gala ceremony where the top projects will be recognized. Parents who donate to this project will be invited to the gala ceremony.
The amount still needed to make this project possible is $2,100.
