Our Mission is to facilitate experiential opportunities where students have the ability to learn the values of trusting one's self, intrapersonal communication, diversity, health, leadership, and the importance of creating life-long friendships while exploring and preserving our natural environment.
NAU Outdoors consists of a collection of programs designed to assist NAU students and others to explore Arizona and the surrounding area. Programs include Trips and Classes, San Juan River Program, NAU Challenge Course, Gear Rental, Rescue Medicine and the NAU Disc Golf Course.
The majority of our programs are designed for introductory level participants but we also offer many valuable trainings and certifications for future adventure education professionals.
Our programs are open to NAU students, faculty, and staff as well as members of the Flagstaff community.
Visit the NAU Outdoor Information desk, located within the Student Recreation Center on campus to sign up or get more details about our trips, classes, or equipment rental program. For more information, you can give us a call at 928-523-3229.
All NAU Outdoors trips are alcohol, tobacco, firearm, and illegal substance free. In order to enroll for a trip, a 50% deposit is required. To cancel you must call us at 928-523-3229 at least two weeks in advance. Failure to contact NAU Outdoors two weeks before the start of the course will result in a 100% loss of fees. Cancellations made at least two weeks prior to the course start date will result in an NAU Outdoor Credit, which may be used for two years from the date of cancellation.
