The NAU Challenge Course is a high intensity experience intended to...
The NAU Challenge Course is focused on providing the greatest opportunity for NAU's students, Faculty and Staff to have greater access to adventure-based education. Following are a variety resources that may aid you in bringing your class or organization to the Challenge Course or bring the Challenge Course to you.
Standards
In education today, we need to be able to measure and assess the learning in happening in the classroom. The NAU Challenge Course has identified some of the standards that the state of Arizona holds to be important in the learning situations that we provide outside of the classroom. Although we can not guarantee that each of these standards is met within a one day experience, we can provide the opportunity for students grasp the concepts of standards that have been predetermined by the instructor. Learner-Centered Education
The Arizona Board of Regents has indenified Learner-Centered Education as a priority in order "to provide support and oversight for each university's efforts to improve student learning." We believe that the NAU Challenge Course can provide a service that aids Arizona's universities fufillment of some of the Guiding Principles for Learner-Centered Education. Funding Sources
We are currently looking to provide grant and funding resources to help expand the mountain campus on the Challenge Course. If you have a funding source that you can share with other schools or you would like to contribute to student challenge course programs please contact us.
