Working with professional, experiential learning facilitators, the challenge course staff provides a tailored program which will challenge your organization to discover and promote skills that enhance your business productivity. We work with you ahead of the course day to form a rich program that meets your specific goals. Through a series of activities and problem solving initiatives complete with honest feedback, the program aims to alter typical perspectives and allow participants to explore interactions in a safe and fun environment.

Our mission at the NAU Challenge Course is to promote individual and team development to create a more effective, collaborative environment where your company can become more successful.

What Focus Areas do we offer?

Play with Purpose
This workshop is designed to take employees away from the day-to-day machinations of the workplace, and offer fun activities with twists and challenges. The goals of Play with Purpose are:

  • Provide a change of pace, while keeping the team functioning.
  • Allow employees to get to know each other better.
  • Foster growth in the intra-organization network.
  • Enhance motivation.
  • Provide an atmosphere that encourages interactions and teamwork outside the normal routine.
  • Build a strong community within the organization

Trust
This workshop focuses on developing employee relations and cooperation through activities that may involve a perceived risk. Trust building activities challenge groups physically, mentally and emotionally to learn more about each other and themselves.Focus areas include:

  • Team trust building activities.
  • Enhancing knowledge of self and team.
  • Competition vs. collaboration.
  • Individual trust activities.

Communication
This workshop focuses on enhancing communication skills by offering fun yet challenging problem-solving activities. Focus areas include:

  • Basic communication skills centered on the Knowledge base, the Sender, and the Receiver.
  • Verbal and non-verbal communication challenges.
  • The power of "Words" to effect an outcomes.
  • Communication, Community and Cooperation.

Creating Organizational Leaders Workshop
This workshop focuses on defining organizational leadership.The program will focus on:

  • Traits of successful leaders,
  • Successful followers
  • Creating an organizational vision.
  • Each participant will have an opportunity to lead and follow the group and reflect back on the experience.

Goals / Vision / Mission Development

This workshop is designed to foster creative thinking while creating organizational vision, mission and goals.The foundation of the workshop is to proceed through thought provoking activities to stimulate employees at all levels to take “ownership” in the organization.Focus areas include:

  • Understanding the importance of well crafted Vision, Mission and Goals.
  • Simulations designed to stimulate ideas...
  • Collaboration to enhance connection to organizational vision...

In collaboration with the experience created on the NAU Challenge Course, the city of Flagstaff is becoming the place for businesses to meet, work and play. A few of the latest developments include the NAU’s new Conference Center and Hotel, the development of NAU’s Wilderness Campus and the expansion of Flagstaff’s Pulliam Airport.
