Flagstaff and Northern Arizona provide some of the most pristine climbing in the Southwest. NAU Outdoors has partnered with Vertical Relief to provide a comprehensive climbing experience that teaches the fundamentals and challenges experienced climbers.
Listed below are a few of the places that we will explore as part of the adventure.
The Challenge Course is a series of adventure-based learning activities designed to facilitate a unique community building experience. Through the use of mental and physical challenges, we will create an environment where both the group and individuals can succeed.
Vertical Relief Climbing Center is located in historic downtown Flagstaff. The center features over 6500 square feet of widely varied climbing terrain to suit all abilities and climbing styles.
Situated in a beautiful canyon where water has carved the rock, Jack’s Canyon offers vertical to wildly overhanging routes on compact stone. The majority of the climbing is characterized by steep highly pocketed limestone/sandstone mix cliffs.
This narrow, winding body of water looks more like a canyon-bound river than a lake. Nestled between forested canyon walls it provides picturesque water recreation in a secluded, wooded setting.
Only 15 minutes from Flagstaff, Priest Draw is a true gem that locals have tried to keep secret for years. Alas, with the recent bouldering movies, everybody knows and can find the place.
The name says it all, one mans' pit is another man's paradise. Well worn, easy access limestone sport area. Bring draws and cameras for a cool escape from Phoenix summer heat.
