Your NAUCard is the property of Northern Arizona University and is not transferable. It will be confiscated if misused. Unauthorized use of your NAUCard, use by a party other than the person identified on the card, and tampering with or altering the card, warrant confiscation and possible disciplinary action by the university.
Personal information will not be provided to any agency outside of Northern Arizona University by the NAUCard Office without your permission. This includes your name, picture, ID number, ISO number and balance or purchases made on your MCE account.

A student NAUCard does not expire. If you withdraw from NAU and subsequently re-enroll or enroll for non-contiguous semesters, the NAUCard from your previous enrollment may be used.
To obtain your NAUCard you must visit our office. You must bring a government or state issued photo identification such as a driver's license, state identification card, passport or military ID. High school issued identification is NOT accepted as valid identification.

- Students and affiliates pay $25 for their first card. Any replacement card is $25.
- Employee status takes precedence over student status for the purpose of issuing NAUCards. Employees who are also taking classes may trade their standard employee card for a card that shows "Empl/Student"

- First and middle names may be switched, abbreviated, or common nicknames may be requested by the cardholder.
- Your ID Number is your NAU Empl ID number. This is the seven digit number printed on the front of your NAUCard. You are recommended to keep your Empl ID number to yourself.
- The NAUCard Office is not an extension of the Bursar's Office, and is unable to take payments against any charges on student accounts.
Rules & Responsibilities
- Lost or stolen cards must be reported immediately. You can report it online by logging into your account from the NAUCard Office home page or by calling the Card Office during our regular business hours at 928-523-1905. If you don't have your card, someone else might, so do not take a chance.
- NAUCard is not responsible for any fraudulent charges or debits made to your MCE account. Charges to your account may happen if someone swipes an offline reader. When the reader goes back online, those charges will post to your MCE account whether or not there is money in the account. A debit to your MCE account occurs when your available fund balance reduces after making a purchase.
- Never punch holes or deface your card beyond its normal everyday use. Cards that have been damaged or defaced will carry a $25 replacement fee.
- MCE and Dining Dollars are non-transferable. Only the person pictured on the card will be allowed to spend money from these accounts. The cardholder may be required to sign a receipt for goods received.
- Cash cannot be withdrawn from the MCE account; however, refunds are available when you officially leave the university (by graduating, withdrawing from the university or terminating employment). Refunds come in the form of a check and are mailed to the address provided. All refunds must be submitted to our office by email, fax or in person using the MCE Refund Request Form. Balances left in the MCE account carry over to the next semester and from year to year.
- The cardholder is responsible for maintaining a valid NAUCard, which is in proper working condition. The NAUCard is the access device for the MCE account. The card must be presented at the time of purchase and shall be the only means of accessing the participants account.
