Frequently Asked Questions:

How much does the ID card cost?

A new student ID card costs $25 regardless of whether it is the first card or a replacement.

Where is the NAUCard Office located?

We are located in the University Union, building 30, room 115 right across from the information desk.

What do I do if my card is lost or stolen?

Go online and freeze your accounts or call 523-1905 to have an NAUCard Office employee deactivate your card over the phone. Cards must be reactivated in person at the NAUCard Office.

You may also get two temporary card per semester. Temporary cards are good for one week and have your Dining and MCE accounts on the card and also allow you to have access to your residence hall.

My card won't let me into my hall, what do I do?

If the card beeps three times when you swipe it at the residence hall, call Residence Life at 523-3978. This means the card is actived, but Residence Life hasn't assigned your access.

If the card doesn't beep when swiped, come to the NAUCard Office so we can activate your card or find out why your card isn't working properly.

If your card doesn't have gold numbers and symbols on the bottom right on the backside of the card, you'll need to go to the NAUCard Office and get a door access card.

What do I do if my payment doesn’t go through online, but my card is charged?

Contact the NAUCard Office immediately at 523-1905. If possible, bring a credit card or bank statement showing the posted transaction to the office.

Can I have card access to a friend's hall?

No. Access to other halls with your card is not allowed for safety reasons.

What if my card doesn’t swipe for MCE or Dining Dollars anymore?

It is possible that your card has been demagnetized. Bring it by the NAUCard Office and we will try to reactivate it.

What are Value Transfer Stations (VTS machines)?

VTS machines are transaction systems that allow you to deposit cash right onto your MCE or Dining Dollars accounts.

They are located at the duBois Center and the University Union.

I can’t login to the card office site, how do I deposit money?

Call the NAUCard Office at 523-1905. There are several reasons why deposits online may not be working, most of which can be fixed by a card office employee. If depositing to the site is still unsuccessful, deposits can be made over the phone or at the Value Transfer Stations (VTS).

I want a refund of all the MCE on my account, how do I do that?

Go to the NAUCard Office and fill out a refund request form. You will receive a check in approximately two to three weeks for the MCE left on your account. Only balances of more than $5 can be refunded.

Will different versions of my NAUCard still work?

All university ID's with a black magstipe on the card will work for MCE and Dining Dollars. This includes several designs and variations that have been issued.
