I am originally from the Hunting Park section of Philadelphia (Philly), PA. All of my family still lives there!
My alma mater is Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania where I received my BA in Speech Communication. With four other friends I co-founded the Distinguished Gentlemen in the fall of 1997 and assisted in the founding of the Sophisticated Ladies in the fall of 1999, both organizations that focus on assisting Black men and women adjust to college life at Lock Haven.
I went to Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ for grad school and received my M.ED. in Counseling Human Relations. I served for two years as the Graduate Residence Hall director.
After graduate school I worked for the University of California, Santa Barbara where I served as a Residence Hall Director with a special collateral assignment with the Education Opportunity Program for two quarters.
I returned to NAU in the fall 2005 semester and have served as a Resident Director and a Program Coordinator Sr. for the Multicultural Student Center.
