Unless noted, events coordinated by the Black Student Union, Multicultural Student Center, and the Black History Month Committee and funded through the Student Activities Council.

All events are FREE, unless otherwise noted.


Events throughout February

Campus Dining will be serving specialty menu items during the week of February 20-24.

Cline Library will display print, audio, and visual materials in the Special Interest Room.

The Bookstore will be displaying special-interest books.

Women’s Basketball vs. Montana State

Black Student Union chooses two games in the month of February where attendees meet at the Rolle Activity Center prior to the game and sit together to show their support for NAU’s men and women basketball teams.  Students get in free with valid student identification card.  For general admission, single game tickets can be purchased at the NAU Central Ticket Office, by calling 928-523-5661.

Cogdill Black History Month Program

Come by for an exciting and informative evening for all.  There will be poetry, music, dancing and other activities. We will also be announcing the 2011 L.I.F.E. (Love, Integrity, Future and Empowerment) achievement award recipients. This is a free family event.

Apollo Night with Spoken Reasons

Cline Assembly Hall

This show is a spinoff of the original Amateur Night at the Apollo. This is no ordinary talent show. The audience decides how long a contestant will be allowed to continue performing and if the audience is pleased, the contestant can finish their act. If the audience is not pleased, the audience will "boo" until the contestant is removed from the stage. Prizes are provided by Black Student Union.

End of the Month BBQ

Connect with the Flagstaff and NAU community while playing board games, cards and double dutch. This is a family event and children will be able to color educational coloring books and learn history.
