Welcome

The Multicultural Student Center (MSC) serves a broad array of university students. Relevant transition services and support are provided for many first generation students including a growing number of historically underrepresented students. The MSC promotes student success through academic, personal, and cultural growth; provides an access point into the campus community; and develops leaders that enrich our diverse society. We are located in the LEADS Center, Room 104 in the University Union (Bldg. 30).

The MSC coordinates the Successful Transition and Academic Readiness (STAR) program, a five-week summer bridge program for incoming NAU freshmen. STAR assists students with making the important transition from high school to college. STAR students will earn six university credit hours, live in the STAR residence hall, develop leadership skills through Club STAR, experience campus life and connect with other new students!

The MSC is also a strong campus partner for diversity events and activities. The MSC sponsors/co-sponsors campus and community events such as the annual Martin Luther King program, heritage month celebrations, student convocations, and various workshops and community outreach programs.

“The MSC has been a wonderful resource for me. I can use the computers, print papers, meet with my peer advisor, or just chill with my friends. It is a convenient place for me to spend time between my classes and do homework.”
