There are no prescribed Programs within Humanities, be it online or face-to face.  You may elect a B.A.or an Extended B.A. or a Minor.

For the B.A. we require 36 units in the major, a 4 term proficiency in a language other than English, a standard Liberal Studies and elective load and  either a 12 unit focus or a Minor (18 or above units) to better tailor your academic career. Logical minors include Art History, Humanities, English, History, Music, Philosophy, Learn about streamlining in ARH and HUM classesTheater, or Women's Studies.  Given the more streamlined course options available online, as well as the talents of your online HUM faculty, however, it might make sense for online students to consider doing 1-2 interdisciplinary foci rather than a minor.  Foci would be developed in consultation with your advisor and can be drawn from a number different areas.  Some possible foci might include:

  • Film
  • Perceptions of Nature
  • Gender
  • Diversity
  • Latin American
  • Writing Across the Curriculum
  • Critical Thinking Across the Curriculum

The Extended B.A. requires 30 credits in the major and a 24 credit emphasis.
