STUDENT CENTERED!
The emphasis on individualized attention results in a sense of belonging, which in turn is accountable for high retention and graduation rates. For the same reason, students are encouraged to join one of the many HRM Clubs or student organizations. Working together in fund-raising activities such as Casino Nite builds bonds between students, enhances spirit, and supports the school’s scholarship fund.
STUDENTS
Each of the following links provides you with important information about activities and opportunities for enhancing your learning experience.
Mentor Program - Our Mentor Program is devised to make the transition from high school to college as easy as possible. Older students mentor incoming students. Students and mentors feel strongly about its power to welcome and support new or transfer students.
Internships - Fieldwork experience provides an extraordinary opportunity for you to “touch your future” with hands-on experience, which often paves the way for jobs within the hospitality industry.
Scholarship Application - Each year, the School of Hotel and Restaurant Management awards more than 80 scholarships, totaling more than $100,000, to its highest academic achievers. To be eligible for scholarship consideration, you must have a cumulative G.P.A. of at least 3.0, 15 hours completed at NAU by January 31st, six (6) of which must carry the HA prefix. HRM Scholarships are awarded during the University Honors Week each April.
HRM Clubs - We encourage you to get involved in an HRM student organization. Involvement in student activities is a great way to network with other students and industry leaders, build valuable leadership experience, and have fun! Join us for Club Night, at the beginning of each semester, when you can learn more about each organization.
Upcoming Events - Dates to remember, events, opportunities, things to do for the Fall 2007 semester.
Student Feedback - Your comments, suggestions, and complaints provide a valuable source of information. We will learn from your feedback and make improvements where appropriate and feasible.
