OUR PROGRAM
The school offers a Bachelor of Science degree in hotel and restaurant management and a Bachelor of Science degree in international hospitality management. The curriculum required for the hotel and restaurant management major combines management courses, technical training, and liberal arts studies. Students are required to complete two semesters of a modern language and work 800 hours in some capacity in a hospitality establishment. Supervised external internships are also available.
The international hospitality management major emphasizes coursework tailored for those students who wish to work internationally or have a general interest in international travel and tourism. Students in this degree path must complete four semesters of a modern language and a one-semester internship (usually abroad), as well as spend a semester of study abroad.
All majors can participate in semester study-abroad programs in Holland, England, Germany, Mexico, Macao, and Australia, as well as a Summer Studies in Europe program based at hospitality and tourism schools in Holland and Switzerland. Students also have the opportunity to participate in dual-degree programs in Germany and Holland, which enable them to receive a bachelor degree from NAU and the international exchange partner in four years or less.
The school has partnership programs at Scottsdale and Pima Community Colleges that enable students to complete their degree in either one of these locations or begin work there and transfer to the Flagstaff campus for their junior and senior years. If you like learning via the Web, the school makes it easy to complete a course, certificate, or degree online from wherever you call home.
The school offers certificate programs in restaurant management and international tourism management. Each program requires the completion of five courses. All of the classes are taught entirely via the web for the convenience of working professionals and non-traditional students.
Isbell Hospitality Ethics: All new HRM students are enrolled in the on-going HRM Ethics Program where they complete on-line ethics instruction corresponding to their HRM core courses.CONTACT
