

Matt Casado is professor in the School of Hotel and Restaurant Management. He received his doctorate degree in education from Northern Arizona University. He holds a M.A. degree in education administration with emphasis in higher education and a B.A. in modern languages from Metropolitan State College, Denver, where he graduated summa cum laude. His research interest focuses on higher education hospitality curriculum and his teaching specialties are hotel and restaurant operations and Spanish for hospitality managers. He is a frequent publisher of articles that have appeared in The Cornell H.R.A. Quarterly, Journal of Travel Research, International Journal of Hospitality Management, F.I.U. Hospitality Review, and Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Education. Author of six reference and text books, Dr. Casado has presented his research studies in international and national forums. He is a Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA), a Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE), and has considerable experience in managing hotels in the United States and Europe. In 2005, Dr. Casado was awarded a Fulbright Senior Specialists grant to travel to Myanmar (Burma) where he conducted hospitality faculty and industry professionals training sessions on curriculum and human resources development.
