Jacob Anderson
Major(s): Biology, Pre-Health Minor or Emphasis: Chemistry
Year at NAU: Senior Hometown: Apache Junction, AZ

Why I decided to attend NAU...   Throughout high school, my football team held camp at NAU. From the first day I spent here, I fell in love with the campus and the Flagstaff surroundings. Mix that love with the up-and-coming and cutting edge nature of many of the programs here, and NAU was an easy choice for me.

Why I joined Honors...  I have always been one to seek out environments that are both challenging and a place where I can truly excel. With its competitive nature and small class sizes, the Honors Program at NAU was a natural and attractive transition for me when I entered college. I have found the Honors experience to be extremely rewarding in the connections it provides to the curriculum and the university.

Major(s): Music and Mathematics Minor or Emphasis: Management
Year at NAU: Sophomore Hometown: Henderson, NV

Why I decided to attend NAU...  I started looking into NAU during the middle of my senior year.  I didn't know I was going to attend until I went on a campus tour.  NAU offered me everything I wanted: strong programs, a beautiful campus, a smaller enrollment size, and fun weather opposite to extreme heat.  I also decided to come here because it was away from home, but not too far away from home.  It's close enough to Vegas so I can make occasional trips to see my family.

Why I joined Honors...  Having taken AP and IB classes in high school, it seemed like a natural progression to join the Honors Program.  I wanted to surround myself with students who have a motivation and drive for academics and learning.  I wanted to take Honors courses where critical thinking is a must, so that in the end you benefit more from your work.  I also knew that the Program would be a great place for student and professor networking.

Major(s): Anthropology and Political Science Minor or Emphasis: None
Year at NAU: Junior Hometown: Albuquerque, NM

Why I decided to attend NAU... I decided to attend NAU primarily because I was recruited to compete on the school's Speech and Debate Team.  I had visited Flagstaff and NAU's campus and had been considering attending NAU prior to being recruited because I really liked the area and the feel of the campus.  NAU also has great programs in what I was looking into studying.

Why I joined Honors... I decided to join the Honors Program because I wanted to have a challenging curriculum that involved a lot of small group discussion.  I also joined the Honors Program because I knew that it would look very good on my resume when I applied to graduate programs.

Major(s): Biology Minor or Emphasis:
Year at NAU: Senior Hometown: Phoenix, AZ

Why I decided to attend NAU...
I came to NAU because I wanted to stay in state, but I wanted a different atmosphere from the Phoenix desert. I loved the campus when I came to visit because it has a lot of options for people who like to play outdoors and it seemed like a very relexing place.

Why I joined Honors... I joined NAU Honors because I've taken honors classes since I can remember and I enjoy the unique perspective that honors students always seem to ave. I stayed in the honors program at NAU because I like how involved everyone in the program is, both in and out of the classroom and the interesting topics that honors offers each semester.
