Objective: The Honors GURUS program offers information and companionship to help first year Honors students become familiar with NAU and the Honors program. The intent of the Honors GURUS program is to increase retention by engaging students in the classroom and involving them in campus activities.
Mission Statement: As Honors GURUS, we wish to build community within the classroom by contributing to discussion, facilitating team building and being a resource to students. We also wish to establish a social environment that encompasses all Honors 190 students by promoting attendance to sports events, speakers, movies, concerts and other outside activities. We hope to strengthen the relationship between professor and student by including the professors in these activities as well.
