Colorado Plateau Cooperative Ecosystems Studies Unit
A partnership between the U.S. Departments of Interior and Agriculture and thirteen other institutions. The focus is on ecosystem studies involving the biological, physical, social, and cultural sciences needed to address resource issues (both natural and cultural) and interdisciplinary problem solving at multiple scales.

Environmental Protection Agency
The mission of the EPA is to protect human health and to safeguard the natural environment -- air, water, and land -- upon which life depends. On campus, much of its work is with ITEP (see below).

Environmental Technology Consortium
In partnership with the Historically Black Colleges and Universities/Minority Institution Environmental Technology Consortium, NAU/ETC improves environmental quality through applied research and development, provides training and education to ensure a technically advanced workforce, and enabling communities to make informed decisions through educational outreach.

National Park Service
The mission of the National Park Service is to protect the natural and cultural resources in its care and to provide for the enjoyment of these by present and future generations. In addition to being involved in the Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit, its on-campus staff manages a regional inventory and monitoring program for parks on the Colorado Plateau.

Southwest Biological Science Center/Colorado Plateau Field Station
Part of the Biological Resources Division of the U.S. Geological Survey, SBSC includes the Colorado Plateau Field Station based on the NAU campus and three other units elsewhere in the region. Sponsor and host of the Biennial Conference of Research on the Colorado Plateau.

   

CSE is proud to be in our new home in the Applied Research and Development Building - one of the most efficient buildings in the world!  The ARD building has been granted the US Green Building Council's LEED "Platinum" certification, the highest level attainable.
