Mission of ERDENE The program encourages research, teaching and public outreach that enable NAU faculty, staff and students to address the interrelated environmental, economic and social needs of the 21st century. Environmental Research, Development and Education for the New Economy (ERDENE) supports innovative research, education and outreach initiatives seeking to understand, sustain or restore environmental and ecological health. ERDENE focuses on projects applicable to the real world and particularly on environmental initiatives that promise to strengthen economic well being and community viability in Arizona.
In concert with the technology platforms identified in the report, “Positioning Arizona and Its Universities: Science and Technology Core Competencies,” prepared by the Battelle Technology Partnership Practice, ERDENE will fund research in the following areas:
