ERDENE - Environmental Research, Development, and Education for the New Economy

Mission of ERDENE
Environmental Research, Development and Education for the New Economy (ERDENE) supports innovative research, education and outreach initiatives seeking to understand, sustain or restore environmental and ecological health. ERDENE focuses on projects applicable to the real world and particularly on environmental initiatives that promise to strengthen economic well being and community viability in Arizona.

The program encourages research, teaching and public outreach that enable NAU faculty, staff and students to address the interrelated environmental, economic and social needs of the 21st century.

Goals of the ERDENE program

  • Promote environmental health
  • Address significant real world problems
  • Support environmental initiatives having economic and social benefits in Arizona
  • Leverage additional funds to advance the above goals
