New Students
Beginning with the fall semester, all new degree-seeking undergraduate students (freshmen and transfer) will pay special fixed tuition rates, known as our "Pledge" Tuition Rate, for four academic years. The "Pledge" Tuition Rate for fall 2009 resident students is $6,092 per year; for non-resident students the rate is $17,318, and for students in the Western Undergraduate Exchange program, the rate is $9,137. These "Pledge" Tuition Rates will not increase during the four-year period (eight consecutive semesters, fall and spring). Students may take as many or as few classes as they wish. Students and families are shielded from sudden spikes in tuition and The "Pledge" Tuition Rate Term provides an incentive to complete a bachelor’s degree in four years. Class fees (academic course fees) and other mandatory fees are not included in and are in addition to The Pledge Tuition Rate.
As part of Our Pledge, freshmen who live in Freshman Connections halls their first year year and a traditional hall in their second year will see no increase in housing rates for two years. In addition, students who purchase a meal plan will see no increase in their meal plan rates for two years. The meal plan rate is based on the cost for 14 meals per week.
The "Pledge" compliments the university’s guaranteed graduation program, Finish in Four nau.edu/gateway/finishinfour.htm.
Current Students
All current degree-seeking undergraduates students (freshmen and transfer) attending the Flagstaff Mountain Campus can opt in for the fixed tuition rates, known as "Our Pledge" Tuition Rate for up to eight semesters. The tuition rate will be the rate in place for the current academic year.
The "Pledge" tuition fate for the fall 2009 resident students is $6,092 per year; for non-resident students the rate is $17,318, and for students in the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) Program, the rate is $9,137. These "Pledge" tuition rates will not increase up to eight semesters (fall and spring) of enrollment.

Class fees (academic course fees) and other mandatory fees are not included in and are in addition to The Pledge Tuition Rate.
The "Pledge" demonstrates Northern Arizona University's committment to holding the line on tuition costs, making college costs more predictable for families, taking the guesswork out of college planning and providing a tangible benefit for students.
