
Certified high school teachers in English, math, social studies, and/or science team teach an integrated curriculum (General Instructors). The goal of Academy is to increase students’ interest and skills in science, mathematics, social science, and humanities utilizing a Culture of Sustainability curriculum while introducing students to college life, emphasizing social, cultural, personal, and leadership skills.

Instructor Training: Approximately Wednesday, June 6 - Saturday, June 9, 2012
General Classroom Instruction: Monday, June 11, 2012 - Friday, July 6, 2012
Latin Elements Classroom Instruction & Office Hours: Monday/Wednesday/Friday 1:30 pm - 4:30pm from Monday, June 11, 2012 to Monday, July 2, 2012 (class on Saturday, June 16, no class on Friday, June 22, 2012, and class on Saturday, June 30, 2012. Graduation on Saturday, July 7, 2012)

New Applicants Returning Applicants
The Team Leader is in charge of planning and implementing the programming activities for the participants of the Academy. They work with the Residential Hall Director (RHD) and another Team Leader as a direct supervisor for the Summer Leaders. Team Leaders are also in charge of student conduct meetings, supervising the Desk Assistants and other tasks as outlined in the job description. They live in the dorm and receive a meal plan and a $2,000.00 stipend.

The Front Desk can be a flurry of activity at times and very quiet at other times. Desk Assistants must be able to keep a lot of information organized and act as the central hub of communication for all of the Summer Program staff, students and families. Desk Assistants must attend some of the training during the week just prior to the Summer Program. Desk Assistants may take classes or work other jobs during their employment.
