Students may apply for entry into the Portfolio Program after successful completion of the first-year Summer Academy curriculum.
In order to provide uninterrupted services to our students throughout their high school careers, we added a monthly Portfolio component. An Upward Bound student who enrolls in, and completes our Portfolio Program can receive ongoing services throughout high school. The Portfolio units were created in order to assist our students with their postsecondary education and subsequent career pursuits. Our intent is to keep our students focused and on track for postsecondary education -- not to add "busy work" to their already hectic schedules. Once accepted, Portfolio students receive three portfolio units per semester. With the successful completion of each unit, students qualify for a $40.00 stipend.
Students must sign a Portfolio Contract at the beginning of the academic year. This contract is a record of the student's commitment to Upward Bound and the Portfolio Program. It will also act as a progress report for students and families to see how well the student is doing on portfolio completion. We will keep the signed copy, but there is a link to the contract below if students or families would like to revisit the commitment agreement.
