Adiam Tesfay has been a Program Coordinator with Student Support Services (SSS), here at Northern Arizona University (NAU), since fall 2006. She is originally from Eritrea, East Africa and moved to Phoenix, where she attended Central High School. She then came to NAU and received her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with an Emphasis in Speech Pathology and Audiology and a focus in Languages in 2005 and went on to complete her Master of Education in Counseling-Student Affairs in 2007 here. Adiam is a first generation college student and was a participant of the SSS program while she attended NAU and she hopes to continue her education and start a PhD program by fall 2011.
Adiam is the 2nd oldest of 5 children. Her older sister graduated from NAU and now works in New York City as an Advertising Rep and her younger sister is currently a second year student here as well. Adiam has a 13 year old sister and an 11 year old brother at home. Adiam enjoys traveling, giving back to her communities, and listening to music. She has a passion to work with and empower students to fulfill their dreams, whatever they may be.
