Wendy M. Wallace is eagerly joining our Student Support Services team as the new Director. Wendy grew up in a small town north of Seattle, Washington and earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Western Washington University in 1995. Afterwards, she worked at Yakima Valley Community College for two years before attending Colorado State University, where she earned her master's degree in 1999 and worked in residence life for five years as a Hall Director, Complex Coordinator, and Assistant Director. In 2002, Wendy moved back to the Seattle area and left full-time employment to raise her daughter. She remained active with the profession, volunteered with a teen service group, and was a leader for a mother's organization. In 2004, she returned to work as the Assistant Director of Campus Activities at Colorado State University, and in 2005, she arrived at Northern Arizona University to work in the Office of Residence Life as the Coordinator of Staff and Community Development.
After work and on weekends, Wendy spends time with her daughter, Jenny, and cat, Princess Buttercup. Wendy and Jenny like to hike, camp, watch movies, and read books. Wendy enjoys cooking for friends, family, and staff members, and plans to be a Running Buddy for the Girls on the Run program this spring.
Wendy is looking forward to working with the staff and students in SSS! Stop by to say “hi!”
