The first step in applying for financial aid is the FAFSA, which is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. FAFSA will be available for the 2006-07 school year in January 2006. Students should apply for a PIN (Personal Idenification Number) as soon as possible at www.fafsa.ed.gov to access and electronically sign your FAFSA, saving time and effort in the process.
In additon, there are numerous scholarships available through various organizations and programs, programs that are specially geared towards helping American Indians, Native Alaskans and Native Hawaiians to pay for college.
