
Educational Talent Search selects 700 participants annually. These participants are evaluated for educational need and potential for success in secondary and postsecondary education.
Presentations on ETS Program services and activities to target school administrators, potential participants, parents, and community members,as well as, dropout prevention activities.
Study skills workshops,career counseling and guidance, exploration to stimulate interest in various career fields and opportunities, career counseling to ensure necessary college preparatory courses are planned for high school, promote opportunities for students and their parents to participate in "On Campus Days" at a college or university and an orientation to community colleges, or vocational schools.
Recognizing, developing and utilizing his/her own potential, current values, goals and decisions, understanding his/her own interests, abilities and opportunities, and how these correspond to his/her career and educational plans; host "parent participation" meetings at target schools, assist teachers and counselors in presenting at "Career Fairs" and "College Days" at all target schools; become mentors and role models to participants; Disseminate information on high school graduation and admission standards for higher education.
