A CPCESU PROJECT

The Colorado Plateau Ecosystem Studies Unit (CPCESU) provides funding and technical assistance for research and education on natural and cultural resources on the Colorado Plateau. It does so by approving "Task Agreements" that describe the act of funding a new project proposal.

Task Agreements are always between:

  1. Federal partner agencies
  2. Non-federal researchers and/or institutions ("Partners"), and
  3. CPCESU

These Federal Assistance Forms must be completed by all Partners:

For agreements with the National Park Service, the documents linked below contain important information (items 3, 4, and 5) and necessary forms for all Partners.

When submitting a proposed task agreement, the two appropriate forms for the project (below) should be completed; either items 1 and 2 or, if WASO funds then items 6 and 7.

  1. NPS Roles and Responsibilities (.doc)
  2. NPS Procedures for Project Initiation, Continuation and Close-Out(.doc)
  3. WASO NRPC Project Cover Sheet (.rtf)
  4. WASO NRPC Project Summary Form (.rtf)

For agreements with the Bureau of Land Management, this form must be completed by all Partners:

BLM Project Summary Form (.rtf file)

For agreements with the U.S. Geological Survey (all disciplines), please contact Mark Sogge (mark_sogge@usgs.gov; 928-556-7194). Please follow link to view agreement creation and processing checklist for USGS : USGS Process/Checklist

In all cases the Partner institution must submit a completed Project Summary Form to the CPCESU along with the proposal. An electronic version should be sent to (blank)@nau.edu to be included in the CPCESU web database.
