There is a shortage of faculty members with sufficient background in the mechanical/electrical area and/or the time to develop good class problems, lecture notes. and examples. The mechanical/electrical faculty boot camp is a three-day, intensive course on mechanical/electrical systems with good takeaway materials that can be used in typical undergraduate construction programs.

Different mechanical systems

Refrigeration

Fundamentals of electricity

Lighting

Power distribution

Wiring

Circuits

The boot camp is for 25 faculty members who teach or plan to teach mechanical and/or electrical construction management. The tentative date for the boot camp is Monday, April 9, through Wednesday, April 11. More information will follow in mid January 2007.
