EMSA Assessment

Assessment is important to each division of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, as it helps us to better understand how our services and programs are working, what we should keep doing, and what needs to be improved. It is part of each staff member's position to gather and use information from and about our students and programs/services to assist students in succeeding at the university. That means assessment is part of everyone's job.

Assessment can mean a lot of different things to different people. For our division, assessment is a broad range of qualitative and quantitative activities used to gather data, conduct analysis, and generate information to better understand:

  • Student behavior, learning and satisfaction
  • Support programs; and
  • The overall effectiveness of our division and/or institution in general.

Assessment efforts are led by a full time assessment coordinator, one graduate assistant (GA), and a team of departmental representatives.
