Biography
I have been involved in several activities and clubs on campus, such as: Northern Lights, Tinsley Hall Council, First-Year Experience Peer Mentor, Gamma Phi Beta, NAU Live Health Reporter, and an intern for Undergraduate Admissions. I am also part of the National Society for Collegiate Scholars and the National Dean's List. I participated in “Semester at Sea” in Spring 2005, a global studies program that provides cross-cultural experience in nine countries. It was the best 100 days of my life and I encourage everyone to go abroad! After graduation, I plan to complete an internship in community health. If all goes well, I plan to do it in Thailand! Ultimately, I see myself doing education programs through creative drama.
Why did you choose to attend Northern Arizona University?
I wanted a stronger sense of community and the ability to graduate on time. I really liked the professors and the Community Health department and I felt right at home my first year. Ultimately, I think it is important to go to a college where you feel comfortable and NAU was a great fit for me
What do you like best about Northern Arizona University?
I love the sense of community and being able to see familiar faces as I walk around camps. There are so many opportunities to get involved and have leadership positions. I will miss this place when I leave!
What advice would you give a prospective student?
Even though you are here to get an education, you are also here to have fun. Be open-minded and try to break out of your shell- do things you wouldn't normally do and meet people you wouldn't normally meet. Join organizations, find a job on campus, and get to know your professors. You only have 4 years here and time flies by pretty fast so enjoy it! -Oh and learn how to do laundry.
Describe what it is like living on campus.
I love living on campus! I am a little scared to live off now in the real world : ) I love walking down the hall and seeing people I know and being able to make friends easily. Your classes, meals, the bookstore, library, and health center are so close and it is just more convenient.
