Biography
I'm an alumni member of the sorority Phi Beta Phi. I joined as a freshman and am active in Rush and the welcome events on campus along with the literacy outreach that we do. I also work on campus as a student assistant in the Associate Vice President's Office for Student Life.
Why did you choose to attend Northern Arizona University?
I visited a few schools but really felt at home immediately upon my first visit here. Everyone is friendly. I also like the private school atmosphere but it isn't at the private school price.
What do you like best about Northern Arizona University?
I love the class sizes here. My lecture classes are small compared to other universities. My professors know me by name. They are approachable and I can talk to them about other things, not just class-related stuff. They want to share their experiences and help me get the most of my education here.
What advice would you give a prospective student?
When you are looking at universities, look for a place that you can see yourself attending for four years. Look for universities that offer diversity in the students so you can meet different people. Visit that campus and see if you like the way the place feels.
What do you do for fun on the weekends?
I go to the football games to cheer on the Lumberjacks. I also hang out with friends and attend sorority events like parties or dances.
Describe the best professor you've had here and explain why.
Donna Cunningham is a Senior Lecturer for the public relations courses. She is passionate about the subject she is teaching. She engages the class to get involved and treats you like a person. She values your input.
What unique experiences have you had while attending Northern Arizona University?
I've met some great people here. My best friend is from Reno, NV; we were roommates our freshmen year and are in the same sorority. I know we'll stay in touch after graduation.
Describe what it is like living on campus.
Living on campus is great for making friends and getting involved. The residence halls are close to everything. When I have a break from class I can go to my room and study or just relax.
